How it all began

Nobody quite knows how the best stories begin. For Emma and Nicholas, it started simply — a few messages, a first date at The Broken Dock in Bristol, and a drive home that Nicholas made with a grin he couldn't quite explain.

What was supposed to be a casual drink turned into an evening neither of them wanted to end. That was the 1st of October 2022, and from that night on, things moved in only one direction.

Nearly three years later, on the 27th of August 2025, Nicholas led Emma along the West Coast of Wales — picnic in hand. A question was asked, an answer was given, and now we're here — and we can't wait to celebrate with all of you.

Frequently Asked

We'd love to see everyone looking spring-ready — think spring suits and floral or pastel dresses. It's a May wedding in the Oxfordshire countryside so bright, seasonal colours are very much encouraged! One practical note: the path between St Mary's Church and the barn is gravel, and there are some uneven surfaces in the grounds, so if you're planning on heels it's worth going for a chunkier heel or bringing a pair of flats to change into for the evening!

We've put a huge amount of thought into our guest list and, due to the intimate nature of the venue, we're only able to invite those named on your invitation. We hope you understand — we want every seat to be filled with someone truly special to us, and we can't wait to celebrate with you.

Tythe Barn is a collection of beautifully restored Cotswold stone barns and a 17th century farmhouse, set at the heart of Manor Farm — the working farm of the Deeley family for over 500 years, peacefully tucked away from the neighbouring market town of Bicester. Their approach is simple and honest, with a love of the countryside, family and entertaining at the heart of everything they do. It really is a very special place and we can't wait for you to see it.

Tythe Barn is easy to find — just use postcode OX26 4SR for sat nav, or find us on what3words at plates.judge.crush. The full address is Charbridge Lane, Launton, Bicester, OX26 4SR. If you have any questions about getting there, the Tythe team are happy to help at info@thetythebarn.co.uk.

The ceremony will be held at St Mary's Church, Launton — right next door to the Tythe Barn. Guests are invited to arrive at the barn from 1:00pm for welcome drinks on the front lawn, before making their way to the church for the 2:00pm ceremony. After the ceremony, simply follow the path back to the barn.

Yes, there is free on-site parking at Tythe Barn (Charbridge Lane, OX26 4SR — what3words: plates.judge.crush). We're currently confirming whether cars can be left overnight — we'll update this page as soon as we know. The venue highly recommends pre-booking taxis to avoid disappointment.

We have a wonderful photographer capturing the whole day. During the ceremony at St Mary's we'd love an unplugged moment — please put phones away so everyone can be truly present. After that, snap and share away!

Confetti and dried petals aren't permitted at Tythe, but don't worry — we'll be supplying dried lavender for everyone to throw as we leave the church, so you don't need to bring anything. It looks beautiful and smells amazing, and we can't wait to see the photos!

Just one thing worth knowing — balloons and inflatables aren't allowed inside the thatched barn or the cowshed, though they're perfectly fine outside in the grounds. The barn is a stunning 14th century listed building so the venue does have a few rules to keep it in good shape for everyone to enjoy!

Absolutely! After the wedding breakfast we'll be serving late night food at around 9:30pm to keep everyone going on the dancefloor. Nobody is going home hungry.

Yes! We'd love to carry the celebrations into Sunday with a relaxed get-together for those who'd like to join. It's completely informal — just a lovely chance to gather again before everyone heads home. Let us know in your RSVP if you'd like to come along.

The celebrations finish at midnight, with last orders at 11:30pm. Please pre-book your taxi in advance — it's a popular area on weekends and we'd hate for anyone to be stranded at the end of the night!

In the lead up to the wedding, please don't hesitate to get in touch with Emma or Nicholas directly and we'll do our best to help. On the day itself, please direct any questions to our wonderful Alice or Marcus Marriott — they'll be on hand to help with anything you need so we can focus on getting married!
